In the heart of the Corbières
Situated in the heart of the Corbières region, the Château Etang des Colombes produces AOP Corbières, Vin de Pays d’Oc and varietal wines. The domain covers 135 HA of vineyard on a pebbly, clay-chalk soil, with the majority of parcels facing due south.
We grow the traditional Corbières appellation grape varieties – Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Mourvedre. As well as our range of our Corbières wines, we also produce Vins de Pays d’Oc wines using Viognier and Grenache grapes.
The consistent quality of our wines over the last 25 years and more has earned our Corbières wines a place amongst the best.

Four generations
Joseph Calmon is the pioneer of the Château Etang des Colombes. First generation of winemakers, the time when wine occupied a prominent place in the diet of the French.
He passes on the wine estate to his daughter Suzanne and his son-in-law Jean-Charles, who continue the tradition with care.
In the early 1980s, the estate was entrusted to Henri Gualco who was one of the first winemakers in Corbières to put all of his wines in bottles. He also invests in an underground cellar for the breeding of wines. The property now has 80 ha of vines. It includes the main varieties of Corbières (Grenache, Carignan, Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Bourboulenc, Macabeu, Viognier).
The fourth generation, Christophe Gualco, is committed to ensuring the quality of the wines that have made Château Etang des Colombes one of the great wine properties of this region. Innovative with varietal wines and Viognier in late harvests, marked by a stronger presence outside our borders
